After about 30 minutes of having Firefox open it reaches 400,000+ memory in my Task Manager, I have 4GB of DDR2 RAM and running 64bit Windows so it's not a problem, but it's still annoying.
I generally roll with 4 tabs, 1 is always Youtube playing a video.

Well 400,000 kb is what it is using because in my task manage mine is using around 200k...and 400,000 kb translates to about 3-4 mb so really it is not taking any ram at all since you have 4,000mb available.
Also if you still want to eliminate some..plugins are a real memory hog for browsers so uninstall the ones your really don't need, also regularly cleaning your history, cache, cookies, etc. can reduce the amount of ram the browser requires.
