My screen just displays vertical colors on startup. I can use my laptop normally, it's just that I can't see anything but a full screen of colors...

Yeah, same stuff happens to me. Apart from mine's permanently. It has like a bunch of colours, blue, red, yellow, orange, green, etc just going from the top of the screen to the bottom.

I figured that mine was caused by several blows to the screen by a good friend of mine called The Fist.
