What you wear can say quite a lot about who you are. On occasion, we encounter certain situations that require the use of fancy clothing (even all the 12 year olds on NGU). We need to change our clothing in situations like weddings, business meetings, or dining at fancy restaurant. Many people don't know the first thing about dressing up, whether it be how to tie a tie, choosing the right socks, or just what to wear in different situations.

More importantly, in the business world, following the proper dress code is essential in nailing a job. Employers look for those dressed appropriately because those people are the ones who took the time to maintain a professional appearance. Anyways, I am going to teach you guys some of the things you need to know in order to dress like a professional. There will be no copying and pasting, as it is all written in my own words .

This pertains to guests attending the wedding, if you are getting married I wouldn't rely on a gaming website to receive dressing advice for your wedding day...

So, at weddings there is a lot less room for being creative with your choice of clothes. It isn't very appropriate to show up at a wedding wearing a bright yellow tie and green socks O__o. Most suits worn at weddings are extremely simple, usually only black and white. The reason for that is you don't want to attract attention to yourself, and away from the groom .

Some wedding invitations specify how to dress, but many others do not. Stick with dull colors like charcoal, black, navy blue, or gray when choosing slacks and a jacket. When choosing shoes, lean toward plain toed oxfords, and stray away from more casual shoes. Use a thin belt, usually black, and choose socks that are easy on the eyes. For a more dramatic type of wedding, it is appropriate to wear a top hat, use a cane, or wear an overcoat.

The Business World

Prepare yourselves my NGU colleagues, I am about to teach you all how to become studly businessmen. So as I said before, employers appreciate it when people dress properly for a job interview. They think that if you take the time to dress like a professional, you will also take the time to act like one in the workplace. In fact it is so important, there is actually laws protecting dress codes :O. Yeah, it is really possible to get fired because you didn't wear the right shoes to work one day, and it is totally legal for employers to do so.

These dress codes (especially in the business world) include the way you keep your hair, tattoos, piercings, etc. You can never go wrong with short hair such as a buzz cut or going bald. When this isn't an option just keep it under control, especially any runaway mustaches
or caveman eyebrows .

Shoes are a very important component of the studly businessman look. A good pair of shoes can cost you about $200-$300, so you guys better start selling your turtle beaches and jailbreaks . The most popular are oxfords, which are relatively inexpensive and go well with most suits. Plain black, shiny shoes are the way to go most of the time.

The suit itself is fairly simple, similar to a wedding style suit. In the workplace, there is no need to attract attention to yourself. People who have held a job for a while can do small things to their look, such as use flashier ties or use fancier belt buckles. A common black and white suit is boring, but it is generally what it used in the workplace .

I will not get into much detail about ties until later, but for now familiarize yourselves with the following. When choosing a tie, it is a good idea to go with silk because it is loose, light, and comfortable. The tie shouldn't be flashy, just a simple striped dull colored tie is best. I am not going to go into detail about choosing a tie because that is about as hard as it gets when it comes to dressing up. The tie should extend down to the center of your belt buckle, or slightly above that.

Socks are important also. The socks you choose should go with both your tie and the suit you are wearing. They shouldn't be flashy, like the tie, but they can have dull colors and stripes. Business socks usually go up almost to your knees.
