Egypt’s president wants to step down.
Article handwritten by Treyarch from NGU
“Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak has said he wants to step down but fears that the country will fall into chaos if he does.”
Egypt is at its all time low at the moment, and his only hanging on to its pride by a thread. The protests are going on as we read this thread. The president has got to go to Egypt’s last remaining Commons house to back down from being president but fears for his life considering chaos is spreading into neighbouring countries, such as Yemen.
President Mubarak: “I want to go, I’ve had enough”
The president wants out, but cannot back down without signing a formal document, there is no way the protesters are going to let him into the last remaining commons building. Mubarak caused anger throughout the world last night after his supporters drove a van through the protesters injuring 12, and killing 4. The van sped through the crowd without slowing down, the footage was captured on CCTV of a nearby building. World leaders are angered and are struggling to do anything.
A UK newspaper used this in there article today: “Protesters blame Mubarak supporters for firing at the crowd and going to the square armed with knives and sticks.”
Showing us that the starting protesters didn’t mean any harm but when Mubarak’s supporters got involved the violence started.
We need to act soon to keep Egypt safe and help keep its historical features alive, this is Egypt’s darkest.
