(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A German man could be charged with the misuse of emergency services after calling the fire brigade to rescue some beer he left on a train after it departed from the station without him.

The 44-year-old, who police say was drunk, smashed the emergency glass on a fire alarm at Kaiserslautern train station when he realised his train - and beloved beer - were leaving the platform.
The man had been travelling with a 28-year-old friend when both of them stepped off to have a cigarette.
But they didn't realise how quick the turnaround would be when they got off, and returned to the platform to find the train doors closed as it slowly pulled away.
In desperation, the older man smashed the protective glass around a fire alarm, prompting local fire fighters to rush to the scene.
An understandably irate statement from the service said: 'There was no real emergency.
'Because there was no other contact person on the platform, the drunk man sounded the alarm.'
As well as the shame of realising his stupidity, the unnamed man was also left with an injured hand where he smashed the glass.
The firefighters probably didn't show too much sympathy, we'd guess.
