(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Now, before everyone just votes stupid, think about this from Sony's viewpoint, or even objectively, forget about how their actions are affecting you, or could affect you, I just want to know if you guys think Sony is making a (series of) wise or stupid move(s).

If you post, please elaborate. I wish to remind everyone that this is a debate thread, and only stating your opinion does not allow for a debate. Make a statement!

Haxor!
I think that Sony has treated the situation lightly. In other words I think that they have taken a series of stupid actions.

1. They allowed those who have used piracy recently to fall into the shadows because of updates. They could have taken further actions and banned all those who have used custom firmware just like Microsoft did during the Jtag wave. (If they did this though they would most likely lose many supporters because some people have used the CFW and jailbreak exploits only for homebrew.)

2. They have sent of DMCA complaints to many hackers hoping to effectively end their streak of hacks. Graf ignored such a complaint and continued to hack the PS3! Also Gitourous(I think that is how you spell it) ignored the letter to take down all the of back up git.

3. They took steps to take down Geohot but should have used resources elsewhere to take down hackers that actually posed a risk to Sony such as the people who released CFW with the use of piracy! Yes Geohot did start the 3.55 CFW craze but he did stop the piracy from happening on his copy of it.

4. The new root kit was established in 3.56 but only served to scare people of the possibilities of what it can do.

5. Sony has not made any public statements (to my knowledge) of admitting their console has been hacked. This however does not seem like a stupid action because it allows those who were out of the loop from the beginning to stay out of the loop.

6. New keys were put into the 3.56 firmware but effectively found almost three days after the release. /facepalm They should have know such a thing would happen, however the new firmware did stop CFW from coming along so far.

All of these actions scream out stupid to me and I think the situation could have been handled better. Certain things could have gotten done better but so far CFW has been blocked on 3.56.

Wise on their part although what they're doing is screwing over every single one of their customers.

It's stalling the release of CFW 3.56 as the hackers don't want to have to go to court, whilst Sony has all that time to buff up their security.

And maybe(God forbid) they might actually win the court case. They're ****s but Sony sure know what they're doing.
