(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright so I'm speaking directly to you people living in the UK or any country over there that has a monarchy. In American Politics Class we were talking about monarchies, and the power of the Kings and Queens now, so how do you guys view the power your royalty has in comparison to parliament, and what is your view on them? Thanks in advance.

Meh, We get a free holiday when one of them gets married so I'm not complaining.

They don't really "do" much, in fact they they have no where near as much power as parliament, but you could never get rid of them because they are part of British History and Hey if they're aren't poking their noses in where they shouldn't then why get rid of them?

.Jack Johnson.
The queen doesn't have much power or influence, she has A huge amount of prestige. All the decisions made by the prime minister and The cabinet are done so in the "queens" name. From there on we have secretory of some sort such as the immigration secratary, he's the guy that makes the decisions.
Hope this helped =D

Our queen still has a certain amount of power, whereas she still has final say on any major laws that are passed in the country once parliament has drawn them up. Other than that, the royal family is a good source of income for our country through tourism.

A Monarch serves no real purpose theoretically she could overthrow parliment in the UK if she wanted but that's not going to happen. Now she's just a figure head of the state, a front to england really nothing more but personally I wouldn't remove the monarch from rule it's nice to have something like that still here it's a piece of Britains history.

Daddy's home.
Everyone else has pretty much summed it up. If she declines a law drawn up by Parliament there is a good chance that's the end of the monarchy, meaning that she has no power whatsoever. She just greets other countries top dogs and waves at a crowd and so on. Nothing important.
