Modern Warfare 3 Is rumored to be a Prequel from Modern Warfare 2.
This was heard from the official PS3 Magazine in the UK. They also rumored this because they wanted to get people excited for it by talking about the possible return of GHOST!!

This could of been their plan all along though because, well really who doesn't love GHOST. he's an amazing character with no general background. Even so hes been there helping us along the MW2 Single Player whether it be Breaching a doorway on a sinking ship to Sniping out Gunners from somewhere in the grass! He is one of my personal favorite characters that makes me want to play the Missions over and over just for the thrill I think his character brings on!!!
