After reading the You must login or register to view this content. I noticed that they had problems converting. I have experienced this aswell so I am going to give a quick tutorial how to do this so I HIGHLY recommend a member of staff reads this and passes it on to the big boys

Tutorial before Upgrade
1. Uninstall ALL products and plugins
Why do you think there is versions specially for vBulletin 4? After upgrading you must search for vbShout, iTrader, Post thank hack etc again. If you have a legit license you will more than likely get an easy download link for it, however I use You must login or register to view this content. that has alot of useful hacks for vBulletins (link is sometimes up, sometimes down)
2. Reset ALL counts
As weird as it seems, it worked for me when I was upgrading. When I didn't I got some screwed up threaddisplay.php errors.

Tutorial DURING Upgrade
1. Make sure you use install/upgrade.php (obviously as install.php will not work)

Tutorial AFTER upgrade[/u]
1. Immediately and swiftly look for updated plugins and modifications with your legit license.
2. [read] If you want your NGU Skin to be converted to vBulletin 4, I will be happy to do so. (Admin contact me about that)
3. Once again reset counts, this will just make 100% sure that the problem is no longer there.

And if anything screws up, just re-extract your 3.8.6 and SQL your database back in using PhpMyAdmin.

Im guessing they know more then this. And this will be closed soon. Just my onion.

What exactly gets reset when you "reset ALL counts"?

Actually I was talking to Magglass about the upgrade on AIM. He was not sure what was going to happen but they went ahead of it and tried JUST upgrading with nothing uninstalled.

Yeah I know it sound bad but it isn't. It just simply updates the database so you see thread counts etc inside forums properly and not ones that have been removed etc, as this version of vB does not do it automatically.

vbPlaza is for vBulletin 4. Check your research.

Or, if they can, remove the accounts with 0 posts?

Why would we do that? That would make us have less members, there are A LOT of accounts with 0 posts.

Then we would have a much smaller member count which would look bad.
