Im sorry but i work at Gamestop this happened at one store i dont think it should effect the corporation since they "Employee" of that gamestop was not the owner or manager and we ask for a users address and phone number we do not get it from their CC ....
Anyone that uses a credit card at any store there information is in a database so im not quite understanding this .. did the Employee like rob her and use her CC without her knowing? or what?

It appears GAMESTOP has been caught recording personal information such as credit card numbers and pins. A class action lawsuit was filed Feb 23 Alameda County California accuses the retailer of doing just that. Wouldn't surprise me if anyone who ever bought anything from GS using a debit card or CC starts receiving those class action lawsuit letters where if you pitch in your entitled to something, but at this point I am merely speculating. Of course after being asked about this policy GS representative answered with the usual "WE DON'T COMMENT ON PENDING LITIGATION". I think to be on the safe side we should all pay cash from now on at GS or go a different route.
"Defendants' employee made no attempt to erase, strikeout, eliminate, or otherwise delete Plaintiff's personal identification information from the electronic cash register after the Plaintiff's credit card number was recorded," the suit says.
Arechiga believes GameStop uses PII obtained from cardholders to obtain additional personal information, such as residential addresses. "Such conduct is performed intentionally and without the knowledge or consent of the cardholder, and is of potentially great benefit to [GameStop]."
