My words were spaced perfectly, and "Internet" is a proper noun. Want proof?

You must login or register to view this content.

"The term the Internet, when referring to the entire global system of IP networks, has been treated as a proper noun and written with an initial capital letter. In the media and popular culture a trend has also developed to regard it as a generic term or common noun and thus write it as "the internet", without capitalization. Some guides specify that the word should be capitalized as a noun but not capitalized as an adjective."

First off, not one time is the "i" in "Internet" not capitalized without an explanation as to why it may be. Second, the Internet is globally considered a place, therefore it is, indeed, referred to as a proper noun.

Keep going?

Oh, and I'm not responsible for any grammatical errors in the link to Wikipedia.org, or Wikipedia itself, because it automatically configures itself and I've quoted the excerpt the exact way it was on Wikipedia. Just saying. Winky Winky

Nope, that was never the case. The Romans used to use a stylus of lead and that's where it comes from. It's not a pencil. A pencil as we know it has always had graphite.
