It's cool bro and also you might find it fun and start going often, but my advice from experience is don't buy your own paintball gun for when you go because they are expensive and I'm sure after a while you may get bored of it or simply not have time.

I Went there for my 16th; Was a Blast. We acted Like Madmen, Me and 4 mates Just ran at Them, Got shot to Sh*t but It was fun.
People tell you to wear layers. Bullsh*t; Makes you sweat like a Pig. Just wear a hoodie, and a pair of tracksuit bottoms.
For the Plane "mission" It totally depends on wether or not your attacking or defending. If Your defending; They usually do A president styled Type of game, Kill the president kind of thing. If your defending Go as FAR right as possible, follow the Trench sort of thing. Then Wait like 5 Minutes, and that flank route is perfect, Get an easy Shot on president & his poxy bodyguards

getting hit isn't all that bad. I like playing paintball and haven't been for over a year or so. Try avoid getting hit in the back or neck area.

Airsoft is much better and cleaner :p
