As me and Luke were assigned Community Admins, I thought it would be appropriate to start a series of "community threads" either posted by myself or Luke, to let you all know of the current situation of what is going on with staff and whats happening with things.
Vb4.
Now you may or may not have heard, but YES vB4 is being worked on and is currently in test stages, im not going to put an expected release date as we all know shitstorms come if the target date is not met. All I will say is expect it soon.
Private Premium.
Only the premiums would of seen my thread in their section about this, but yes, Private Premium is getting a re-vamp. How the revamp will be done isn't finalized yet, but you can expect the revamp to make the section more "private" than last time (higher expectation) and contribute based. Meaning we will look at how you contributed in Private Premium and the rest of the forum before you are allowed entrance.
Now onto Rep.
Rep is broken, it is, soften it up how you want, but in the end you will see its broken. Now there will be a poll attached to this thread. VOTE on the poll, this will be a PERMANENT change on Rep.
The options will be:
1. Leave Rep how it is.
2. Get rid of rep totally (disable it and hid the display).
3. Get rid of rep totally (disable it), but keep the display of rep. (bars/stars)
4. Get rid of -Rep/+rep, but Keep Thanks, Nominations, Groans. (make groans worth 3 -rep).
So that is about all thats happening in "staff world" at the moment, you will see another "community update" thread in about a week. Me and Luke will try to push for 1 thread a week to let you all know. Now sometimes there might not be anything to update you all on, but if thats the case, as soon as something comes expect a Community Update thread.

That is what i am asking for, for the rep to be equal for everyone. The way it is now if some people are your friends one lot of plus rep is worth 500+ is that fair just because you know them? I am not saying to ban rep i am saying it needs changing for everyone to be at an equal plus rep or minus rep. But the change mentioned says that to get just plus rep for thanks or groans minus means that the same people will still be very highly starred as they have a lot of friends and although provide a great service for people and help a lot will very easily get lots of thanks for making useless threads. Plz read my previous posts on this thread.

I agree 100%, it would also completely defeat the purpose of rep boosting. But it would make rep boring and pointless to even have at the same time.

I highly doubt that's true. DT gets many "followers" to thank his threads because they are patches. Even if he changes one small thing and updates it, they thank him for the work he put in and for posting it. I on the other hand do have many people "riding my cock" but it's ok, I don't take rep as seriously as people think I do and yes I admit it, they do thank me for no reason sometimes but that's because I subliminally tell them to :p

Well I think it shouldn't be disabled, but be more strict and have it moderated so people can't boost/beg for it. I can't really find the words of what I'm trying to say.

Dopey to be fair i have seen you in the SB but i dont really know you. Rep for me is not everything I came here to learn however i do like the rep in recognition of any valid or helpful point i have made and i was not trying to flame derek. I know his work and in fact still play his final V8 on mw2!! I agree he has made valuable contributions for which he has earned his rep. My point is that even a thread on tying shoelaces because of his rep power is thanked!!

I just did not like the way the guy above was flaming you and trying to make it look like i was supporting him with my post when in fact I can make up my own mind which was incidentally made up the second i read his first post and saw his sig!!
