This is where you learn, respect, how to talk, how to walk, how to talk to girls, how to make fund of other kids, sports and so much other things. I can't think of atm, cause I'm bout to pass out. What you guys think?

It's where you learn not to put a capital letter after a comma... :carling: Elementary school gives you the basic knowledge of English and mathmatics that you need to get through life. As long as you can read, write and count you should be able to struggle your way through life.

I would hope that it teaches you how to deal with other kids making fun of you and not the other way around.
The first 4 years of elementary school can influence your remaining years in school.
Catch a crappy teacher, who is burnt out, and they can ruin your experience for years to come.

Pricey makes a very solid point. I also believe that if you can figure out how to do basic math, read, and write, you can get through life without much trouble.

I guess so, but Jr. High is where you learn the social building blocks of life, which could come in even more handy!

Damn straight. Take me for example, shocking grades at school. In the few years since I've left, I've worked for a university as a researcher and I'm a qualified carpenter (diverse I know). Given the right chances, you can scrap through.

Life is nothing like school. When you leave, you realize that. School is just a big popularity contest, when you leave you can just be you. There is no need to make friends with certain people to be in the "in" crowd. Social standing means pretty much jack when you're in the real world.

Hmm... Maybe it just has to do with the size of my school, but I don't really have an issue with trying to be in the "in" crowd. Nearly all of my friends (myself included) are nerds.

I'd say the major difference between school and real life - or rather, the one I'm most concerned with right now (as a junior in high school) is the fact that you don't always have a clearly defined goal to work toward, and when you do, you aren't graded on your performance in achieving it.

Back on topic: Firstly, I didn't learn to walk or talk in Elementary school. I'd hope you'd know how to do that by then. Secondly, I didn't learn to pick on other kids in elementary. If you did, people must hate you IRL. But of course Elementary school is going to be the most important. The most important part of anything is how it starts. If the beginning of a book or movie is terrible, do you want to continue watching it? No, you don't. If the beginning of school sucks, are you going to look for forward to the rest of it? No, you won't.
