But i really disagree when some of the higher ranked members as to speak feel that they are somewhat higher in achievement have the right to flame threads of the lower ranks like they where never in that situation

me for example i achieved my -rep earlier via a conversation in the shoutbox where i was just expressing an opinion is this right?

You don't need to hint for rep when the thread is entitled "Does rep really mean this much?", you know as well as I do that everybody who dislikes the current rep system will +rep you for that alone.

They shouldn't, but they will.



+rep was not created to give to those whose agenda you agree with, it was also not created to be given to those who have supposedly been unfairly -repped. You're the one abusing the system, I'm the one evening it up. Don't tell me I'm abusing it.



Look through the reputation I've given and you'll see I never give out -rep for people disagreeing with me, I only ever give it out to help(e.g. evening rep out, making it fair) or to trolls/scammers.

I also have a much lower rep per post ratio than most on this site, so don't tell me it's going to my head.

That was my whole point in this thread disagreeing with the way a small minority of higher achievers in rep give out -rep to threads or posts that dont deserve it

It can discourage newer members from contributing to NGU when really they should be encouraged to help the community grow

Are you also telling me that none of your rep has come from members agreeing with your point as you see I've come from nothing to this much rep which goes to show I'm not an expert at knowing how to gain rep it was luck and generosity

I still highly disagree I've abused the rep system and also see your a highly respected member but totally disagree with how you've handled this situation

So wait, this guy makes a complaint and he gets a boost of like 500 like nothing. Dude, I've been in the same situation, where I was -repped because of personal opinion, then had a few guys try and get other people to -rep me because they didn't like my opinion. II lost like 250+ rep in no time.
