I've decided to create this just to think about what's happened over the past few years, and what we remember; I'm going to make this thread into a combined one where user's can tell me what to add and I'll be happy to add it.
However, I'm going to start of by putting a few things that's happened over the years, I'm going to put these in my own words as I'm not going to copy and paste things from other sites as I want to put it from my perspective and then show evidence to back it up and actually bring in quotes from reliable sources when needed. (Moderators don't close this, I've spent a lot of time to post this and I don't want it to go to waste. Just generally sharing what's happened over the few years, and discussing other opinions, etc).
These are in random order; however have significant meaning's behind them. Everyone know's about them, well I assume, but it's just a reminder and just a look back on how the year's have gone by and what's happened over those couple of years.

Pop star Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, aged 50.
Paramedics were called to the singer's Beverly Hills home at about midday on Thursday after he stopped breathing.
He was pronounced dead two hours later at the UCLA medical centre. Jackson's brother, Jermaine, said he was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.
Jackson, who had a history of health problems, had been due to stage a series of comeback concerts in the UK, beginning on 13 July.
Speaking on behalf of the Jackson family, Jermaine said doctors had tried to resuscitate the star for more than an hour without success.
Jermaine Jackson on his brother's sudden death
He added: "The family request that the media please respect our privacy during this tough time."
"And Allah be with you Michael, always. I love you."
TV footage showed the star's body flown from UCLA to the LA County Coroner's office where a post-mortem is expected to take place on Friday.
Concerns were raised last month when four of Jackson's planned comeback concerts were postponed, but organisers insisted the dates had been moved due to the complexity of staging the show.

I remember watching this on TV; this was just so difficult to bare with, knowing that many lives would be affected and that many, many, many have died. This was one of the largest earth quakes - ouch. I remember when one earthquake hit England, it was only a small one but I remember the amount of fear of people, imagine the fear of the people Japan.
I know everything may just sound bad and a lot of bad things are in the media, however that doesn't mean that there isn't a good thing to show, I'm going to list one or two good things that have happened.
President Obama

"Barack Obama stood before a hushed nation today, raised his right hand and recited the 39-word oath to make history as the 44th president of the United States and the first African-American to assume the Oval Office."

I'm not American, however I feel Obama becoming the president of America was a good decision by the people of America. He seems like he is President material, not saying that others weren't but he seems like a good president that is taking America even further.
Obama the 44th president of America and the first African-American - That's quiet an accomplishment, like the guy or not. He's made it real far and has got what he possibly wanted to do since he was a little kid, and that's become a President. I'm sure none of us have a dream of becoming president, as the chances are that slim it's not even worth chasing or going ahead for.
Haiti Earthquake

The Haiti Earthquake happened in 2010. This was a massive earthquake, many many, many people where effected by this earthquake, it's estimated around three million people where effected by the earthquake, this means it could be more it could be less however regardless, the amount estimated speaks for it's-self. This is a mass amount of lives that have been effected and we are unsure of how severe they've been effected, etc.
Some key facts from Wikipedia, credit goes to them:
"The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, with an epicentre near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. The earthquake occurred at 16:53 local time (21:53 UTC) on Tuesday, 12 January 2010.
By 24 January, at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater had been recorded. An estimated three million people were affected by the quake; the Haitian government reported that an estimated 316,000 people had died, 300,000 had been injured and 1,000,000 made homeless. The death toll has also been suggested to be much lower at somewhere between 92,000 and 220,000, with around 1.5 million to 1.8 million homeless. The government of Haiti also estimated that 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed or were severely damaged."
Now the number's speak for themselves, quiet clearly this is real life - Imagine the people that have lost their loved ones, their friends, their neighbors, their teachers, etc. I'm surprised about the 52 aftershocks measuring ATLEAST 4.5 or greater, that's a huge amount of aftershocks.
What's your opinions/thoughts on these past few years, etc?
