It takes a lot to piss me off, it take even more to make me livid enough to do something about this, and considering that I've spent the past two days doing nothing but talking up this company and trying to convince the members of this forum that they need to show this company and their products the love and respect they deserve (which I still stand behind by the way), they have a lot to answer for.



I'm not going to do this in text, I need to get this off my chest... please watch this video, it will explain what has happened and why I'm so angry.


With that said, I want to end by saying if you haven't had a look at Super Mario Bros. X please do so. I reviewed it on this forum which you can read at 'You must login or register to view this content.', and you can also download the game from the same thread. You may want to get the game sooner rather than later as I am now LITERALLY the only source where you can get the original program, although there are many communities for the game avaliable no-one has uploaded the entire game... yet. Should this get removed from my webspace for reasons beyond my control it will become very difficult to find an up to date and correct version of the game on various free hosts like Megaupload and Filezilla... and that's no good thing.

This game is worth your time. I named it my number 1 platformer of all time in the article 'You must login or register to view this content.' which I posted earlier in the week.

Just remember NGU, this is what our dark corners of the internet are all about, proving to companies that they cannot bully us into doing things there way. In the immortal words of no one person in peticular.



Nintendo will come to learn that information is free in this world. The only reason your company exists is because we CHOOSE to pay for things and we won't do it anymore if you f*ck with us. What proof take a look at the PC's biggest hit recently, Minecraft. It doesn't even have any DRM on it, but is it ever pirated... probably, but not much. The vast majority of people paid for that game and why? Because Notch is a person we like a respect. We love the effort he put into his game and we would feel bad stealing off someone who's in it for the same reason as us... fun.

Eventually gamers will make games for gamers, and they will be paid not because we have to but because we want to, just like rep on NGU. I don't charge rep for my posts, and neither does anyone else, we make our posts for the love of the site and we get rewarded with rep by a community who wants to reward decent contributions.

The problem is that Nintendo simply sold out. Nintendo used to create games for the love of making kids and adults everywhere happy, now it's just disgusting. I haven't played with my wii, no pun intended, too often since I got it a few years ago, but there's one thing that Nintendo does well: create one enjoyable, classic game a year. Fits perfectly into the market for the wii: the console for having mild fun every christmas, while getting a new game for the wii every christmas. Although I am unhappy with the way Nintendo is treating their public, I am honestly not surprised. The nintendo wii has sold some 200 million consoles, and an insane amount of portable devices as well. What I'm saying is Nintendo is doing it right. Finding one excellent feature, and focusing on the best parts of their franchise.

I do agree with you, but your rant will be dis proven when Nintendo sells a few dozen million consoles by the end of the month.

You respond with generic Nintendo hate and vague claims that my rant will be "disproved" but you didn't even watch my video. I know you didn't because you responded only 6 minutes after I made the thread and the video is 10 minutes long. Why do people do this, is it just so they can be the first to comment? This is actually a serious issue and as gamers I thought this would be something I could get people to care about. My rant has nothing to do with whether Nintendo is "doing it right" or whether the company would be successful. Off course I took to time to read your lame excuse to throw me off the topic. i did watch parts of the video that I thought were relevant to my point. I am not commented directly to your post as there would be no discussion to have if I would do that. Actually to tell you the truth, I only watched 1 minute to 5 minutes because I got bored of you crying about Nintedo's ways. You do not know the company, and are assuming that the individual that created Super Mario X can be bought. Have you ever thought that he might have retired, or given up on developing as a whole? Nice. I know, you don't want in fighting. I don't mean to cause Drama and while I realise people are going to make pointless posts Julians just got to me. It wasn't that it was a pointless post it was that he was conciously trying to agree with me and trying to look like he was contributing to the discussion when he hadn't even bothered to listen to my point. He assumed everything based solely on the title of the thread, wrote some generic Nintendo hate and tried to get a post out there too fast. It's disrespectful to me, it's disrespectful to the subject matter and it's disrespectful to the users of NGU who he clearly thinks are too stupid or have too short an attention span to realise his post didn't make sense.

Someone being silly or even someone who's genuinely stupid doesn't offend or upset me, hell, not everyone can be born with academia just like I'm shite at sports, we all have our weak points, but someone pretending to be an intellectual, especially when directed at me, and hoping in vain that everyone who reads his post is either too stupid to notice the deceit or too shy to call him on it... that I took as a personal insult on my character. I know, it seems completely counter-intuitive. If I was a Nintendo fan I'd be getting him on board to create "New Super Mario Bros. X" for the Wii. Can you imagine the advert.

I guarentee this would sell. It's like Little Big Planet meets New Super Mario Bros. Wii with a bucket of concentrated awesome thrown over it, but rather than do that, and use Super Mario Bros. X as free advertising, they instead shut it down and threaten to sue for damages. It's so sad. Even if they took down the program and instead replaced it with a trailer that said...

"This is Redigit. Nintendo have recently contacted me and asked that I no longer provide the Super Mario Bros. X game on my website. It's been fun but we all knew that Nintendo had the right to request this but all is not lost. In return for our co-operation they have asked that those who took part watch the following trailer for a new game comming out on the Wii for early 2012 which will contain fully endorsed versions of all 4 chapters from our original fan game and original content from Nintendo themselves. This goes to show how a fan community can touch a company and show how much we love their creations... without further delay, check out New Super Mario Bros X for Nintendo Wii"
At that point the trailer starts....

Now, why can't Nintendo see why the above scenario is not just incredibly shrewed, but the ONLY way you can keep the Mario fanbase interested, without them feeling betrayed. Why would we want to buy New Super Mario Bros. Wii 2 now when it'll just feel like a bitter replacement for the game Nintendo took off us. They had a chance to do something brilliant and instead they acted like cocks and it's the gamers who suffer.
