One of the most wanted men in the US,James 'Whitey' Bulger,has ben arrested in California.In 1995, authorities say, Bulger, now 81, was leader of the Winter Hill Gang and an FBI informant for 20 years when he suddenly disappeared, after a tip from an FBI contact former agent John Connolly that he was about to be charged with racketeering.

Bulger was arrested along with his longtime girlfriend, 60-year-old Catherine Greig, in the early evening at a residence in Santa Monica, Calif. The arrest was based on a tip from a recent publicity campaign by federal authorities, according to the official.

The 81 year old was being sought by the FBI for his alleged :hitman: role in 19 murders.For all you movie fans out there the inspiration for the gangster movie THE DEPARTED was based on this guy ,with Jack Nichilson playing a role something similar to Bulgers life.

Looks like he will die in prison. I just watched a show about him like a month ago on the history channel and they said it would be a miracle if they could ever find him. It looks like that miracle came true unfortunately.

I knew The Departed was basically Infernal Affairs 1+3 turned into a single movie, but I didn't know they used a real gangster as inspiration for Nicholson's character.

Yeah I saw that too,They said he could be living in Ireland or even dead,also it was interesting too hear how he became a snitch he stopped that FBI guy conolly from been beaten up when he was a kid and then he became an FBI officer and recuited Bulger as an informant and also covered up a number of Bulgers crimes Hisstory channel rules.

I though this might have something to do with that bulger kid that killed a child when he was like 12 years old and is now a convicted paedophile.

That is insane. They just launched the media campaign to find him a few days ago and they already got him :O
