(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey I've been playing saxophone for about 3 years now, and last year I bought a brand new Cannonball Big Bell Stone Series Alto. Now I'm getting tired of the stock mouthpiece, and I'm in deep need of an upgrade. I'm looking for a piece that is all around. Because I love to play jazz in my free time and I do pretty much as much as I can. But I also need it for marching/ concert band as well. So it needs to be something that can handle about everything.

Out of a few minutes of looking around, here are 3 that I stumbled across. I need to know as much about these as possible.

You must login or register to view this content. I played this one before, and I really like how it sounds/handles but I've only used it in a more classical way so I don't know how well it would handle jazz.

You must login or register to view this content. I haven't played this one, but I've heard that it's alot like the Selmer S80 but slightly better. This I want to know how it would handle both jazz and classical.

You must login or register to view this content. I just LOVE the way this one looks. And I know it could sounds sexy in a jazz scenario. But I don't know if it could darken up at all for concert band. Also, I march, even in the winter, so I don't know if temperature would affect this one especially because it's metal..

Those are the three mouthpieces I've found that I've liked. And also, I'm looking for a ligature. I don't know much about these though. I just know that that the Vandoren Optimum Ligature works great with the mouthpiece.

Thanks for any help. :y:

I have been playing Alto Saxophone since the 6th grade, I am currently coming into the 9th grade. I am hoping high school band will be just as good.

I own a Yamaha, that's about it. Nothing special, hardest piece I have played so far was a level 3, and it was John Williams in Concert

Pointless post is pointless, you obvious have no knowledge of saxophones or their parts.

Look's like we're on the same page as far as experience, I've been playing just as long as you. Also, I'm not sure how hard my hardest piece was, but I'm pretty sure it was a 3 as well. And do you know what model of Yamaha you have?
