Ever since 2007, when Russian explorer Artur Chilingarov planted the russian flag under the arctic sea, debate has been raging over what country actually owns the north pole. That debate may soon be over. Russia is planning to go to the United Nations and stake a claim on the north pole, claiming it is part of its land mass. If Russia is successful, they will have added over 380,000 square miles of land mass to their country, and will have jurisdiction over a quarter of the worlds hydrocabon resources, fisheries, and newly opened trading routes.

Even though Russia says that it connects to The Arctic, Canada, America, Denmark, and Norway also have arctic coasts, and could make the claim over the north pole.

So what do you guys think? Will the north pole belong to russia? or will some other country claim it as well?

Lol tottaly not biased! xD I say Greenland should get it. it will go with there theme of giant icy wasteland. And lets face it they have nothing else.

If Russia does get it, they really need to give some land to Romania, after what they did to my home country. If not, I hope Canada gets it.

I wana see Canada get it and using Canadian technology manage to plant millions of maple trees there making it from a barren ice waste land to a freaken forest!
