I guess people take it so negatively for the fact that it was used to discriminate African Americans during the slavery era.

Yeah, and it sounds less offensive with the a on it. Everyone says it that way.

I feel it should be used with discretion, and should not be made apart of one's standard vocabulary. I know plenty of my colored friends are offended by being referred to as a n*****. Even I am offended by its usage in certain scenarios. I have nothing but contempt for the word, or at least what it stands for. I hate it. That hatred is on record. It conjures up images that I can barely imagine. But I do imagine. Centuries of utter horror and inhumanity, encapsulated in one six-letter word. And the bit that always makes me simultaneously choke with tears and turn over with nausea is the basis for such treatment: the amount of melanin in a person's skin. It sickens me.

i understand your point , but the part that interested me the point of vocabulary . I do agree that it shouldn't become your daily phrase. But the thing that impacts me is the word in context . If i give you 2 scenarios using the same word , only one sounds offensive . 1. Hey whats sup my ****** , 2. Hey **** you stupid ******. Thats the part that puzzles me the most .

Grumpy is God.
Well as some other people have said Nigga is like referring to someone as your friend just like bruh or bro or anything else. But Nigg*r is considered a racist term. I mean I understand where there coming from but at the same time, I'm Jewish and there was as everyone knows the Holocaust which killed millions of people, mainly Jews but if someone comes up to me and is like "Jew" or "Holocaust" or "Burn bitch" or something along those lines which is technically speaking the same thing because they were both awful times where a specific group is targeted, I would just blow it off I mean I'm used to it it doesn't bother me I might be like Fu*k you or have a come back but I'm not going to like fight somebody unless they have provoked me previously. Discuss.
