A Florida teenager who stabbed a schoolmate to death will not face any criminal charges, a judge ruled this week in Naples, Fla.
Fifteen-year-old Jorge Saavedra was facing a second-degree murder charge in the death of Dylan Nuno, 16, after a judge ruled the boy's action against a bully amounted to self-defense, naplesnews.com reports.
(Collier County Circuit Judge Lauren) Brodie based her decision this week on the findings from a two-day December hearing, during which students who witnessed the events Jan. 24, 2011, testified that several teens announced the fight on the bus, and Saavedra got off several stops early in Golden Gate Estates. ...
In a nine-page document released Tuesday by the State Attorney's Office, Brodie stated that by getting off the bus several stops before the location where the fight was to happen, Saavedra "demonstrated that, with or without a knife, (he) had no desire to fight with Dylan Nuno."
According to testimony, Nuno, a junior, followed Saavedra, a freshman, off the bus and punched him in the back of the head. Saavedra tried to get away.
He then stabbed Dylan Nuno 12 times in the chest and abdomen. Two of the blows caused fatal wounds, including one that nicked his heart.
I think this is a very good subject (bullying) and that it isn't funny to pick on people. The Columbine High School Massacre was caused by bullying... And many other school shootings. The bully didn't deserve to die.. But I don't feel bad for him. If you're gonna pick on/harass somebody, don't expect anything good to come out of it. A lot of people pick on people they don't really know. Everybody has limits, and sometimes that limit gets reached very fast. It's like you're poking an alligator with a stick.. It will eventually bite back!
Please tell me what you guys think about this.. Murder is a big deal, do you think what he did was right? Or was it over the limit? Did you ever experience bullying, or witnessed it? Thanks.

My personal story:
Okay, yesterday ( Jan. 5th 2012 ) I was in one of my bad classes... You know, the one that everybody talks, and doesn't pay attention. Well there's these group of black girls ( no racism intended ) and they always pick on this other white girl ( again, no racism intended ), and they always throw shit in that class.. Well, there's a new kid in my school, he showed up right when we came back from Christmas break. The black girls were throwing shit at the white girl, and of course, one of them missed and hit the new kid right in the back of the head. He looked down at his desk, his face was red, and he was squeezing his face together.... He looked like he was about to explode! He stood up, and yelled "Who the **** threw that!".. Nobody answered of course, and he grabbed his notebook and stuff, and walked out of the classroom. I thought that they wouldn't throw stuff anymore, but they still do... They act like 9-year-olds...... Grow up
He apparently has a short fuse.. But they're pretty lucky, he would've kicked them to the moon.
I live in naples/golden gate, where this shit happened... Dylan was an asshole and had it coming. Although I dont get why he didnt get a possesion of a weapon charge, to have a knife in school, or a bus, is jailtime in naples... Also, this is the 2nd murder of another classmate, and the 3rd murder in general to come out of Palmetto ridge highschool, were he goes. (the other kid murdered his mother and father because they took away his MW2 or some dumb crap...)
I know this might sound crazy but i like bullys. I was bullied before too. Bullys help tuffin up the smaller kids make em stick up for themselves imo. To be honest if anyone has ever killed themselves over a bully that person is a weak mentally not just physically. This is all my opinion America has blown bullying out of proportion.
I think it is VERY wrong that he isn't getting jail time. Stabbing someone is against the law, regardless of the circumstances. I could see this happening if he was being harassed and stabbed the bully once to get away, but 12 times? No one should be able to get away with stabbing someone 12 times. this story sickens me, the bully had a family and friends that will never see him again, and his murderer doesn't go to justice? Just wrong.
Wow when I saw that the kid didn't get no jail time I said to my self wow that judge must been payed off by some rich parents or lawers because in reality the kid should have gone to jail thats straight m,murder I don't care if it was a bully or not my belief is Exodus 20:13
“You shall not kill
There should be no bias in court. He defended himself and the judge made the right decision by dropping the case.

Actually, stabbing someone is not against the law in the act of self defense.
As much as im glad he found the strength to stand up to his bully, theres just something wrong with this story. The judge said he had no intention to fight, thats clear. Stabbing him once or twice would suffice as self defence, but stabbing him 12 times? That's intention to kill. He should be punished of some means... Just my opinion though...

I think stabbing him 12 times was a little much... But I don't think he's a murderer, I don't think he had the urge to kill, or to hurt. I think that he was fed up with the bully's crap and fought back.. In the wrong way. Maybe he only wanted to stab the kid maybe once just to show him not to mess with him... But then he remembered what that kid did to him, and lost control.

Im not a religious person, so i wont be using any religious views in my response.
He killed someone in self defense (what is being said anyway), yes it was taken too far but I think that this kid may of thought it was a him or me situation.
If you had a situation when you thought it was either going to be you or the other person not leaving afterwards you would kill them (only if it was a fight of course) and i dont want to hear people say thye wouldnt cause trust me, it might not be your intention, you might not even start the fight in this situaion but once its started it will be finished one way or another.
This kid will more than likely be scared for the rest of his life due to this, i'd say that is punishment enough for defending yourself. Not to mention people may not want to go anywhere near him at school now, so has the problem actually been solved by this bully dying? for many yes but for this poor kid who killed him, i'd say the problem hasnt gone away at all, just changed.
