There's no movie section anymore so I'm posting this here. Move it if you want.
I had two free tickets for a movie and there was nothing cool out. Then I remembered Chronicle came out yesterday, so my girlfriend and I decided to go check it out. I wasn't really expecting much and since the tickets were free, I said screw it and just decided to try to enjoy it. Luckily the theater wasn't too packed with stupid annoying ass little 9th grade kids and I was able to hear the film, because it turned out to be WAY better than I expected.
The movie is about some kids who obtain some kind of telekinesis, which is the power to move objects with your mind. But I didn't really take it as just another Hollywood CGI flick with pretty boys that have powers. It had a lot more to it.
The main character of the film is an outcast at school, has no friends and has a pretty shitty home life. I wasn't expecting this at all. What better a type of person to get powers like telekinesis? This will be perfect for kids that can relate. I'm the type of person who can't stand when there's bullshit guy girl drama in films, and this film pleased me in that aspect. There is a female character in the film, and the best thing about her is that she's barely in it. Her acting was terrible.
When I think about having bad ass powers where I can pretty much do what I want, a lot of cool things run through my head, and most of them were covered in Chronicle. But not only that, the movie doesn't focus on just one or two things the kids can do. It just kept getting bigger and better throughout the movie. There's even a bad ass scene where one of the characters exploits his powers in a talent show.
Of course a movie can't just be all fun and games the entire time, or it would be some piece of shit starring jonah hill. What becomes the downfall of the kids is pretty obvious, but they still did it very well. It was just enough to make you say "wow I wasn't expecting that really." They even ended it on a note where it's like you can't tell if there's going to be or not going to be a sequel. Guess I'll just have to sit on my hands until info comes out.
This movie is definitely good and worth going to see. I'm glad I didn't spend money on it but I would gladly to go see it again. It was that good. And I hate most new movies.
Sounds good but did any of them use their powers to make their penis bigger or get the ladies ?
Actually they do hint at that in the movie. It's PG-13 though so of course you don't see any of it. But I'm kind of glad they did that because it could have very easily just turned into one big rape fantasy porn.
