ACT’s Attorney General Simon Corbell has always been one of the most outspoken AsG in favour of an R18+ rating for Australia, so it makes sense that his state would be the first to put through R18+ legislation at a State level. If all goes to plan, ACT could be the first Australian state to officially pass an adult rating for games.

Well apparently, all current MA15+ rated games are getting the new R18+ rating, and some censored/denied games may be able to be given the R18+ rating such as Mortal Kombat.

Wow, this is going to make a huge impact on the game market in Australia. ALOT of people under 18 play MA15+ games, and this is where alot of sales come from which is supporting the game market.

I don't really see this as a good move, if what you said is true

Wouldn't it just be better if Australia re-marketed banned games as R18 becuase if a game is going to be banned it will happen first in Australia.
