The first thing to come to mind is the letter Invisible Children (the creators) sent to Obama requesting military backup. It seems strange that a nonprofit organization would send a request like that, moreso that millions of people were expecting a response. What better way to solve a dictator problem than to invade someone's country to resolve a problem that isn't ours (think back to vietnam/Libya)? The second reason I believe it is fake is because I have seen response videos from Ugandans saying that Kony has not been seen there for 6 years. The third reason (I'm sure this will pique your interest), is that large oil reserves have been found along the Congo. Didn't we just go to war in Iraq which, coincidentally, has the most oil in the world? Also, the co-founder of Kony 2012,Jason Russel, was just arrested for public intoxication, public masturbation, and vandalism. What kind of revolutionary figure does that? There was a growing speculation of misuse of the funds Invisible Children received. In my final opinion, I think that the U.S. is using this campaign as an excuse for a foreign invasion for oil under the guise of killing Kony. Tracing this back to the Iraq war, there was another scandal involving several witnesses who claimed Osama Bin Laden killed premature infants, but that was proven false and the witnesses were given acting lessons that were sponsored by a private company which was sponsored by the government itself. The Kony thing only lasted a few days, it's over now. There's no child soldiers in Uganda and Kony's been out of action for 6 years.
