(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); well, I have ax720s right now, they work great and are in good condition. The only thing is that the do not fit very snug in my head. If I upgrade to a40s, would I get a better, more comfortable fit? also are the astros better in any other places? or are the ax720 and a40s the same thing just with differnt names, and are you overpaying for a40s cause rhere MLG? please reply Smile

Grumpy is God.
I have never owned a pair of Astros but I have owned several pair of Trittons two pair of AX 720s and a pair of AX Pros I have also had a pair of X11s and PX21s currently I use a pair of Turtle Beach PX5s which I bought refurbished on eBay for $150 these are by far my favorite headset I have ever owned. Now granted Trittons and Astros are both going to have slightly better sound quality but the functionality beats both of those by far.

With the PX5s they are completely wireless and you can connect them through bluetooth with a smartphone and stream music and answer phone calls. As I have never been a really hardcore gamer I love the functionality of it so I would recommend those but choice is yours.

No it's definitely not worth it. The sound quality on the 720's and the A40's are neck in neck really. The A40's may be a little better at lower frequencies.

If you want them for comfort reasons or anything else, than it's up to you which one you find more comfortable.

Astros are getting too overrated now. Just like Beats and any other headsets. $200 for that sound quality isn't the best deal.

Get a good pair of Sennheiser's instead of overpriced 'gaming headsets'.

You got to look at it this way, the 720's are virtual 5.1 surround sound, while the A40's are real 5.1 surround sound. So the 720's use only one speaker and can simulate surround sound from the box. For the most part it works fine, but to the experienced ear you can hear a difference. Just personally, it's not worth the upgrade in my book, plus I prefer my Pros over the A40s.
