(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was just wondering if anyone on ngu DJ's? It doesn't have to be mixing, it can be music production and remixing as well.

Please tell me what you do (mix or produce), what genre of music you mainly do and what you use (software and/or hardware).

I have been DJ'ing with a Traktor Kontrol S2 for a few months ago and I think I'm going alright. I'm still an amateur but I can deffinately tell I'm improving. I mainly mix house and electrohouse.

For all of you that want to see what the s2 looks like, here it is. I bought it for $500, it was on special.

I have also attempted to make house music :p

Here's my soundcloud for all that want to hear my mixes Smile I'd be happy if you followed me, and I may even follow you back Smile You must login or register to view this content.

And here's a group I made for all DJ's to join Smile You must login or register to view this content.

Yeah I know I had a quick look on ebay last night and I could easily save a few grand :p Still have to get some $$$ though. Then again I'll probably get the money back in the long run anyway if I'll be DJ'ing at events Smile

That's a really nice deck man :y:

Haha that's two things you definately need to DJ. Sorry, but that's something you should think of yourself Winky Winky Some common name suggestions would be nicknames, shortening of your name or something you like. Remember, make sure no other DJ has that name and make sure you're not breaching copyright with the name.

Yeah but that stuffs all like Tiesto range haha. If you want decent CDJs 1000mk3's are only like 1000 a pair and they're industry standard get a decent Pioneer mixer for what 500? I'm thinking about getting the Allen & Heath Xone 42 solid mixer for £600 ish - purely because how much spare cash I'll have now lol.

But my technics will cost like £400 off ebay mixer included

If you're DJing at raves they should have their own equipment unless its a small event. Clubs all have their own. I'm gonna get serato I reckon then you can use it with cds or vinyl decks.

You don't necessarily need the kit I've been using virtual dj on my pc for the last two years works fine and you can use up to like 6 decks at once. You can get some cheap CDJs or a cheap controller for like a few hundred or something.

Yeah true my friend knows a DJ and I asked him what he thought and he said the DJM 900 was better than the 2000 so I might look that up.

Really? Didn't even know that haha

You don't necessarily need a top of the range one unless you're after some crazy filters and effects, I've been told that Pioneer are the best for mixers though :y: .

Thanks. What program did you use to produce your house song? Sound pretty cool.
