yep, it can help advance research amazingly. The only reason people think it's something negative is that it was something that WOULD develop into a human being. I personally don't care for something that isn't even born yet, and if the parent is up for it, then that is fine. Eventually we should be able to create synthetic embryos that we can use. With embryos you develop them to be a second layer of skin, create organs (would SEVERELY help people that need an organ transplant), it could create limbs, and it could help cure diseases. Right now though, scientists only have a limited supply to deal with, and because of that they are limited to what they can accomplish. If they could get a larger supply, then they could have all of those things happen, but right now they are struggling to find a way to expand the cells without using viruses which they extract later, but can still lead to cancer. So by allowing more funding to the program they can help MILLIONS for the cost of a a couple embryos.

embryonic stem cell research has had little regulation since obama came into office. and your last sentence is totally off base. a couple? they've already gone through millions and so far its save a couple people from diabetes and some other small things. ONE DAY it will save millions, but by then it will have killed billions of people. and they waste even more. i'm pro-life, but if your gonna have an abortion, use the stem cells. they waste way too much. if they only used the stem cells that were getting thrown away anyway, they'd have all they need right there. i wouldnt care about it as much if they didnt waste what they did have. because then they wouldnt have to create "test tube" babies.

i actually know a whole lot about it and what it can and cant do. most likely more than what you claim to know. your acting like i said its a bad thing. nope, i said its good, but they're too wasteful with it. there are lots of other places to find stem cells that they dont use to the fullest. so your arguing with someone that agrees with you... makes sense...

i think its fair, as it can lead to some major breakthroughs and many lives will be saved and it would make millions of people happy as their relatives/freinds life has been saved, whereas it is killing millions of potential lives, but as they arent "alive" yet they do not know anyone so noone will mourn their loss
