(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am not looking for a debate on Christianity vs Atheists/Other religions/etc.

I am just looking for the Christian users of NGU.

I am a firm believer in Christ. And I know what his grace feels like.

Please, if you're a Christian, either post here or friend me.

If you are not Christian, you can ignore this thread and I hope you live a good life. (No sarcasm)

Jesus loves you. All of you.

Well. It's kind of hard to have this type of thread without a debate or two arising. Although this is not in the debates section, people still have differing opinions and they will discuss, or debate, those differences. While his goal was to determine who believes the same way he does, people never fail to come and state that theirs differ. I would have never come in here and started questioning those differences if people were above blatantly attacking or making fun of the way he believes. I'm not necessarily debating religion as much as I am debating peoples inability to respect and understand those differences.

*sigh* Posting a thread concerning religion and asking for no debate is like knocking down a beehive and expecting the bees not to attack you. Evidently, this thread isn't a miraculous exception to those expectations...We've already seen some ignorant, underdeveloped, juvenile, and essentially stupid comments by some [s]members[/s] children on here already. It is fine not to believe in a deity- I'm no believer myself- but if you wish to express your opinion, at least demonstrate your premises in a civilized and mature manner. And also...don't bother expressing even the most insignificant notion on your mind unless you have taken the time to fully develop and contemplate that opinion. It's absolutely disgusting.

It's pathetic people can't respect the thread owners wishes. Is it really too much to ask to be able to express your beliefs without being attacked. Hell, I'm not even Christian, but there is absolutely no need to pounce on it. If you want to actually debate/discuss/argue religion take it to where it belongs God/Fact thread, or intellectual discussion in general.

Anyways, cut the arguing in a thread where it doesn't require it.

Agreed. It is the actions of man that cause war. Religion is inanimate, and cannot cause a war. Only the choices of people can cause it.

exactly. war is not a divine thing, it is created and caused by man

But I am doubting Jesus. I mean how are we meant to believe it all? I mean it is just a book. So how do we know it's not lies?[/color]
People die and people live, if there is a heaven or hell, only the dead will know, but what happens if you are just re-born? You will have no memory of your past life. So you will be brought up in a world were you are taught in schools or whatever to believe in Jesus, but we will just never know, until are day comes.

I hope saying that didn't offend any religious views, If I did sorry.
But as I said, I guess I'm christian, but it is hard when I have a dad and sister who don't believe in god and think its BS and a mum who does. So I don't know what to do.. I think I'll stick with christanity till I'm a bit older and know alot more about religions.

Keeping on a serious note, I do believe that it's Extremism that is the problem rather than religion itself. People interpreting it in a fundementalist way basically and it's not just limited to Muslims, think of the Ku Klux Klan for instance.

There is nothing wrong with a person of faith to claim another person is ignorant. It is about the way it is done and presented. You presented yourself as a closed minded person who will attack someone else's beliefs, so he has the right to call you ignorant. Your ignorance does not lie in the way you believe. It lies in your closed mindedness. Feel free to question a person beliefs, but do not attack him or put him down.

Also, imagination is nothing to scoff at. Each and every person has an imagination. Different people will imagine different things. Could God be imaginary? Yes. It is very well possible. But you cannot claim someone is crazy for believing it. Everyone believes in something they cannot see. The whole matter of God is a matter of believing something cannot see, whether you believe in His existence or His non existence. You cannot see a thought. It is not tangible. It is something generated by our brains. Are thoughts non existent? Do they not exist within this world? Are they imaginary?

Dude seriously, I rarely come on here anymore. Even though, I've been reading your posts throughout this thread, and I couldn't have done anything but posting to thank you.

I'm a Muslim myself, I believe in my religion, and I'm completely open minded with anyone, I don't really care if someone believes or not, it's not my issue, everyone is entitled to their opinion/thoughts. What I hate most is people hating, I've seen some people off my own race attacking atheists, or vice versa, both are truly disgusting. People need to grow up, and respect people thoughts, have a look at my profile, and you will see some people hating for the sake of it.

If you want to debate religion go to the God vs Fact thread.

I am not a person who is knowledgeable enough at religion for full fledged debates about it, but I do have the sense to know that the most logical, and sane answer is that there is no God.

I would just like to say something, I'm not looking for an argument. And bear with me, im on my phone. But I think it's very immature and prejudice not to respect someone's beliefs. If someone believes in Jesus, and thinks Christianity is the most logical answer in their mind, you should respect their opinion, and agree to disagree. Your belief, and mine, is that there is no god. That's most logical to me, and any understanding person, including Christians, should be able to accept that and respect my decision and yours as well. Not all of us think the same way, have the same experiences, or even learn the same things about religion. But if everyone can respect each others' beliefs, there shouldn't be any arguing or debating.
