All this man did was ask a simple question, if you are a christian. Not what type of christian are you, not why you are atheist, not if you were raped by a priest. As legal stated, these threads are like that like asking someone not to breath. Anyways, this debate is a fucking circle, why? Because, it has no endpoints. No matter what, you will NEVER have a winner. So keep going, keep making jokes, keep calling each other names, i am sure one day every atheist and religious person will come to a full agreement based on a forum thread.

Well, when I was talking to my friend on facebook (raised Catholic, now Atheist) he said that he was raised to believe that Mary was the only one without sin. Which is completely wrong.

The Catholics believe that in order for a sinless man to be born (Jesus), both parties must be sinless (God and Mary), even if Mary did live a sinless life, doesn't she inherit sin from her mother? Considering she is born of the flesh. Which is sinful.

Two verses came to mind...

Hebrews 4:15 "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are —yet he did not sin."

‎1 Peter 2:22 - "He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth".

Both verses referred to Jesus.

Also, there is a verse that does state that Mary, along with everyone else was a sinner. It is one of the Bible's most memorable verses.

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

Meaning Mary was also a sinner. Jesus is not however because He IS GOD!

But Marry was an exception we are taught, because she was born without original sin, but everyone else is. Those verses dont really contradict the Catholic faith, and the Catholic faith was before all other Christian faiths....

People say Catholicism is wrong because of this belief or that belief, however, everything we believe atleast one other Christian religion believes also, (believes in that one belief) so you cant really say one of our beliefs is wrong but its fine for another Christian faith to believe it and it be fine.
