It does when its shoved down your throat and basically forced to believe it, which is the case with lots of people and it causes wars that kill innocent people.

I completely agree with your point on war, but those people at war is not every religious person, and it's not like religion teaches people to go kill, except only when people twist what their religion is preaching e.g. extremists

I guess you can categorize me as a Christian. However I disagree with many things that are written in the bible.

Essentially I believe in everything science has proven, and the rest I leave a possibility of some form of supernatural being. (ie. God)

I have been raised a Christian. I believe in God. I have attended many churches of different denominations. Baptist, Catholic, Non Denominational, Methodist, etc. But I cannot call myself a Christian. I have beliefs that differ from traditional Christian beliefs. But I will not hate on any religion. I am an open minded person who is ready to hear and attempt to understand anyone's beliefs. Every person has a very unique set of beliefs. If there ever were two people that had the EXACT beliefs, down to every aspect, I would be astonished. Religion is a set of rules, moral codes, and beliefs set out for you to BASE your life in, not to follow like a mindless zombie.

People are much too closed minded. Cpt. Slow is a very prejudiced and closed minded person. It takes very little observance of his comments in this thread to understand that. Obviously there have been things in his life that have caused him to shut off his mind to understanding the way other people believe. Many people are like that. Christianity is shoved down peoples throats. But he is as good as shoving his belief down our throats with his comments.

Openness to different religions and beliefs is an issue of prejudice. People need to be open to understanding. If they do not understand other religions, then how can they be certain they truly have strong beliefs. A man that believes the only thing he has been taught is a man that doesn't truly know what he believes.

I'm sad that you are so pathetic has a person. Read your comment, and think to yourself, "what was i thinking"? How can you say believing in something should be illegal? Yes, great things have come from religion, and awful things have also come from it.

I'm personally am a Catholic, and I hope you aren't one of those Christians that think Catholics aren't Christian or anything like that. But right now in my life I'm not completely sure what I believe, but I just laugh at people like The "FlyingIrshMan", who thinks Governments should do exactly what Religion did hundreds of years ago, and pretty much outlaw ones beliefs. I have never ment someone more ignorant then him.

When one person goes has imaginary friends, the whole world thinks he is crazy, and he gets locked up in an asylum and in a sense they are outlawing his beliefs.
However when billions of people have several different imaginary friends its considered religion.

Religion does extremely little good, it comforts some people when a loved one dies, but it has also caused millions of these deaths..

And for a person of God to call me ignorant.. thats when I start laughing. Ironic much?
