This is the internet, and it was only a matter of time someone made a comment on the subject saying this was all because of videogames.

In a piece of news on You must login or register to view this content., CNN's criminal profiler Pat Brown stated that videogames put people (not only teens) in the mood to kill.

"He probably spent a lot of time in his apartment, playing one video game after the other—shooting, shooting, shooting—building up his courage and building up the excitement of when it’s going to be real for him.

"And now we’re going to find, probably on Facebook or anybody who knows him will say, ‘Yeah, he did have a lot of interest in that.'

"He was always playing the video games. And I’m not saying video games make you a killer. But if you’re a psychopath, video games help you get in the mode to do the killing," said Brown.

He said he was bored with life so he was going to have some fun on the opening night of Batman. From what he said it was life problems not video games. Once again trust journalists to blame his actions on media they don't understand.

Definitely not! I'm guessing Jack the Ripper and H.H. Holmes played lots of CoD and BF lol... Crazy people do crazy things and don't need TV or videogames to do these things. Obviously there's going to be a psycho who watches TV and plays videogames, but so do other millions of people and there aren't millions of killers running around -___- It's just an isolated case provoked by his sick MIND not any shooter

Yeah, most people play videogames. And just because they've murdered someone and play videogames DOESN'T mean it's because of the videogames solely.

I think you'll find the kid did it because he wasn't loved as a child, most likely abused at some point and this plus a lot of social isolation caused him to grow up to become a narcissistic sociopath and, due to this, he saw himself in the Joker (whom has a similar background in the comic world) and so emulated him for a long time, finally deciding to make the change properly.

Do you think it had anything to do with videogames? I mean, couldn't it have an influence (idea-wise) on how to kill people and perhaps (in certain games) how to get away with it?

I heard he shouted "I am the joker" right before the shooting so you're probably making a lot of sense in that statement

I also heard police found 30 traps/devices in his flat/house the first of which being opening the door would make a gun shoot right where a person would most likely be standing. If this part is true you cant blame that on violent games, I havent ever played a game where if you opened a door your head is blown off.

This is just something that will give people who dont understand gaming a reason to hate it imo
