Hello,
I only just found out that the NASA Rover called 'Curiosity' had successfully landed on Mars.
If you haven't already seen or heard, here is a video of the News:
But, the main thing I wanted to ask is 'Do you think it was worth it?'.
I mean, they spent Billions of Dollars on this, when we are in a recession with no Jobs... and then we wonder why nobody has barely any money.
Personally, I'm 50/50 on the whole thing.
I think it's good that we have managed to venture further into Space, but then I think it's bad that they spent all of that Money on a Robot instead of helping out People back on Earth.
WELL WHERE DO YOU THINK THAT MONEY WENT? A good part of it paid the thousands of people who were a part of the project. I'm all for paying engineers to do cool things rather than give the lazy folk welfare checks or fight a war for a bunch of angry muslims.
The following 2 users say thank you to Solo for this useful post:
This picture below though is pretty cool, and was taken from the Mars Rover.

This picture is awesome. I am also 50/50 it's good that we are able to get to mars successfully but what are we getting from it don't know if it's worth that much money.
Yes, we did it again. It's a one-way trip, meaning it's not coming back. Even if we send someone to get it, they won't be able to come back. I guess some missed the ads on the xbox panel about this.
That makes no sense. "We wonder why people don't have any money"
What is the government supposed to do? Hand everyone checks and put them on welfare to make money? Obama can impose cuts for funding for NASA and the economy is still getting worse under him.
There were many people involved, and many people employed in this. These were not billions that were wasted. I'd much rather have people exploring the cosmos instead of building an extra few extra aircraft carriers.
