My uncle had a few before he passed away (stroke that was unrelated to those, and unfortunately never detected.) His all came back clean and clear, but he took good care of himself too.

Not sure how they are though. Honestly, I imagine not pleasant. The anus is supposed to be exit only. Just try your best to relax I suppose would be advice I'd offer.

Aint never heard of anyone dieing from them, so they aint fatal. That's always good. Like I said though, painful I'd imagine.

Got a lady friend? Ask her how painful her typical OBGYN visits are. That should give you some idea.

I think that's what your most worried about to be honest, unless you have some serious shit they are looking for.

USUALLY (at least in America) these are not done until your 40's, so if your under that age, they yeah. ASK QUESTIONS! Don't be afraid to ask them. It's your health and life for god's sake!

If your under that age, find out WHY they are preforming the test. Ask if something is wrong, ask anything that's on your mind.

HIPPA is an awesome thing. No matter what you say behind that closed door (no pun intended) it will NEVER EVER be repeated outside that door, or outside that visit to anyone. No need to fell embarrassed.

I know you said you were an intellectual in the SB, well my friend, this is a chance to expand your mind. This is something you don't know about. Don't follow the main stream, and be afraid of it. Find your courage, ask the tough questions, and learn all you can about it. Once you know about it, it's not scary, and you will know how to conquer it.

I do wish the utmost luck, and hope your results turn back negative, as well as clean and clear of cancer.

Thing I find ironic, in this day and age, with ALL these advances in medical science, this is STILL the only way to check for this type of stuff (cancer and such). Seriously guys? We can't find an alternative non-painful solution to shots and IV's, or this, but we can make cough medicine taste like candy? What the hell scientists? :yuno: destroy pain?

As for source for the HIPPA information - quite a few years of Volunteer Fire and EMS work in the States.

My brother had one because he had polyps in his bowel or something like that. He said he was only sedated though so he knew things were going on but couldn't really tell me how it felt at the time so I can only assume that's a good thing? He said he didn't feel much different after it, just that his poo was a bit looser and the dirty shame that washed over him (his words, not mine). Think of it like date rape, if you can't remember it you can pretend it didn't happen.

lol, through my arse, tho. Hardly ideal!

I've overcome my fears of being probed by a telescope, I now face the fear of them finding something other than a cyst or something small. Knowing my luck it'll be cancer. :blank:
