Since all the contamination and thing that we are causing on this world I think the next big step is already happening on our breathing system. You can compare X-Rays from '50s people and us and you will notice the difference. You can also compare contamination levels charts and that stuff. ^^

In a modern society the biggest advantage is being good socially. Therefore I think whichever part of the brain that controls social interactions will become more complex.

Sooner or later, I think that society will forget about petty differences (race, age, gender, sexuality, wealth, etc.) and will work together. I don't think we'd even begin to see that change for another millennium or so.

I would have to disagree with this point, people will always separate themselves in my opinion. It has been like this from the beginning and I feel that it always will be. I do however respect your opinion.

Maybe it's more of a personal philosophy then I think. I seems to always question to myself: "Why don't others see things the way I do?" Seems simple, but unfortunately, unpractical.

I honestly don't see that happening even through evolution in thousands of years, there will always be poverty, corruption and greed and it only takes one of these things to unsettle the whole concept. Just as human males fight over women naturally, there will also be humans that are always looking to exploit and have an influence. I just cannot imagine a world without violence especially seeing as some races don't even like their own people nevermind those that aren't a part of their race.

It has not halted we are still changing evolution has not stopped yet. Large groups of the population who have genes which are slowly going into the main pool. For example Redheads have higher Vitamin D production compared to other hair colours. That is slowly working it way into the main population.
Small groups of the population who have genes that are useful for the rest of the population is spreading.
Small groups too who evolution has changed also exist.
One thing is for certain the more we mix the faster evolution is to become.

Next step most likely two human groups over one which case we are liking to split. One thing is for certain humans are getter bigger height wise and are brains are slowly changing. Humans are having to deal with challenges no other humans had to deal with.

A interesting question is how much technology going to end up in are bodies.
