(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok guys I'm a lil bored and I've been noticing a lot of these threads are asking fellow NGU members about their favorite things, what they think is going on in the world etc. So I think I'll make a lil thread with the simple question; What do you think is the best major for college?

My Opinion: Obviously I'm gonna say that what I am majoring is the best, (cause I'm in it Happy ) right now I'm in my sophomore year here at Michigan State University, majoring in Computer Engineering, with a focus in the hardware aspect. The reason why I chose this is because I have always shared an interest in the hardware aspect of Computer Engineering. With a very high job outlook, and pay for people straight out of college; I would come to the conclusion that Computer Engineering, (and a lot of other Engineering majors at that matter ) is the best major.

More info on Computer Engineering from the Bureau of Labor Statistics > You must login or register to view this content.

So what do you think NGU? What is the best major?

Discuss.

"Best" is subjective. Obviously the best would be something in Law, Medicine or Business. Personally, I am very passionate about Business. I also am experimenting with law and will see how it works out. I don't have a set career path, however I don't think that I could ever become a surgeon or something. The thought of telling people that their son died, etc. is just awful to me.

I'd say to be a well rounded person, 6 years of university would be the best option. You could major in business and administration, and get an undergrad in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and you would be in an excellent position for the rest of your life.

I agree business is a good path if successful, but there is too much risk for failure, and also a lot of people look at the outcome and not what it takes to get to that outcome, my uncle is really successful and owns his own bar, but to get to that point he had to put in 100 hours a week for 3-5 years before he got to his point.

I'm currently majoring in Computer Science. Not sure I would want to get into the engineering part of it... I have an engineering class now and it's definitely not easy.

My major is computer hardware engineering, but that's mainly because i like to get a hands on experience. I do however like mathematics as well even though sometimes its a pain Smile
