It is reported that the new Orbis Dev kits for the PS4 will be running a modified amd A10 apu which will probably be a stripped down amd a10 5700 quad core cpu and either 8 or 16gb of memory or ram. As it may also run a 256gb solid state drive meaning that it won't have a mechanical hard drive and that slow lag you see on older PS3s will no longer exist. it will also contain a sony standard blueray drive. this points to them trying to make a cost friendly console for the masses.

Dear sony: Please don't allocate all the ram to the game, allow a bit for some cross-game chat

Kind regards

256Mb ps3
516Mb xbox

I think that is right
Specs are sort of in line with current hardware. Which makes me want to doubt this

the ps3 can have specs like a current 400$ desktop pc tower. just in a mini form. and the a10 cpu makes sense it has a strong cpu and HD graphics built in at a low price. so it seems like it might work

Just looking at this you can tell it's going to be BS. First of all we're not going to see 8/16 GB of ram. It's just not going to happen. We'll probably be lucky to get 2. Secondly a 256 GB SSD? You're kidding me right? That's like $200 right there. Cost friendly my ass. So yeah.

All dev kits always have bigger specs than the actual system. This is because it's for developers. It's used to test games and apps. For example I think the ps3 test units had 1gb ram as well or something along them lines. Definately not 256mbs.

I'd love to see a new UI, hate the classic 'psp' or xmb UI. They should keep it simple,, yet appealing.
