Why are you just limiting it to a Turtle Beach or an Astro? In my experience the Tritton Ax Pro's are fantastic and superior to the A40s. Plus if it was going to be between those two you should really consider that Turtle Beaches are a plastic-piece-of-crap, they break constantly.

The following 2 users say thank you to Meatwad for this useful post:

I had the earforce delta's before these, and they help up just fine, thank you.

Well you're probably the only person who's Turtle Beach didn't break after 2 months of use. Everyone I know over PS3 and personally who had a Turtle Beach broke before the first year.

I have the Tritton's ax720(5.1) the older version, and they're pretty sweet I will not be bias towards it.
Although I have never tested the A40's I will say Tritton has improved they now can flip like the astro's.
And the Turtle beach vs Tritton I think Tritton all the way they're way more fitted and not so tight on your head.
So I would say test out the Tritton first, and then go for the A40's if you think the Tritton do not get the job done.

This 100% pure bullshit. Not all Turtle Beaches are the X12's and thats what everybody says, I have had Turtle Beach X11's and PX5's I have also had Tritton AX Pro's along with Tritton AX 180s and Tritton AX 720s but I would take my PX5s over any Trittons in a heartbeat. best headset I have ever owned. Not all Turtle Beaches are made for shit but if you only pay $50 you can't expect the quality you get for $250.

Absolute BS? Really? From everyone I know I can't even count on my hands how many Turtle Beaches' have broken and I would never buy a Turtle Beach for gaming, it's the absolute lowest tier.
