Since I'm from the US, I only tend to care about the US (unless multinational important events occur elsewhere). So with that, it's safe to say 75% are (in blatant terms) idiots.
As most, or all of you know, there's been the notorious 2012 "world-ending" hoax. Is it just the US, or is the world filled with morons (again, nicest way I can put it)? We were talking about it in English today, and I learned half of my class were borderline retards. It was sad I saw what I did in an honors class.
Some kid raised his hand (later called on by the teacher) and talked about how he heard that the world was definitely ending on December 21, 2012. He also said that "the Jews" and some other dumb-ass name he had for a group for people had already taken maneuvers to try and escape this catastrophe.
Being the smart man I thought he was, my teacher then said "Uhhhh... what's your source for this? I read the paper every day and if it was legitimate I definitely would of heard about it." The kid followed up by exclaiming "Oh some channel."
At that moment, I was amazed how stupid some of them were, but that wasn't it. I of course had to say something, so I told my teacher the word "gullible" was written on the roof above him; he silently laughed. Then, he said to the class "Did you know that the word 'gullible' wasn't in the dictionary?"
Being an English class, there were dictionaries under every desk. I think you can infer what half of the class did at that point.
Seriously, just sad.
My question to those of you located outside of the US is as follows: Are there as many world-ending believers (retards) where you live? Are they just as gullible?
Edit: I apologize for using the word "retard"; as this is just a rant, I mean no offense.
