(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Evening all,

We're trying to gauge if vBookie is still a popular feature.. we understand some of you still enjoy it but we have to look at it in proportion with the entire user-base and decide if it's still used as much as it once was and is worth keeping.

Please vote in the poll and we'll make a decision that we feel is best for the website and its users. The results of this poll (yes to no ratio) will not make up our decision in its entirety, as although I would expect it to favour 'yes' (as the people who would bother voting in this are likely to be in favour, those who aren't are just disinterested) it is more of a matter of how many people do.

I don't see the point of this poll... you're still going to get vBookie removed even if there is a higher rate of Yes than No. As you can see Dave, this poll has been up for more than 3 days with a higher ratio of Yes than No, so people don't want it removed. You have a great amount of staff who are willing to keep it going, you should be looking at more important issues such as Last Post and The Youtube team. Remind me, what does gaming squad do again? 90% of them haven't even done anything.

Gaming Squad as been doing a lot of things within the Call of Duty and Playstation scene. I myself questioned the Gaming Squad at one point. However like I mentioned in one of my post before, there is an overwhelming biased in the poll. vBookie mods are voting yes to keep their spot as event staff and some of them even told people in PMs to vote yes. So what you see is a misconception of how the polls should look. But I do agree with you about YouTube Team... once the vBookie issue has been tackled and dealt with I'd like to see Dave start working on that next which I'm sure he will. You just got to give Dave some time he's a busy man.

We've got to look at in proportion with our userbase. 159 voters is not a lot, especially considering a lot of those who voted 'yes' although may like the idea of vBookie, often don't bet themselves.

Devil's advocate
Could you not say the same for a lot of other features or sections on the site too ?
For example vBplaza , the Shoutbox , Xbox forums and ton of other forums hell even GD too. Pretty sure the Enzo plugins and MC server also come into the fold.

End of the day we are gaming site we should have a wide range of content and promote things outside of gaming too. You never know when the next big thing is going to strike you should be ready for it. Only so long this site can live off COD and PS3 mods.

That's me playing Devil's advocate for the day, hope you come to a decision soon.

I really don't know why some people voted no when I know some of them who are in the section a lot, (or used to be). And one of them is a vBookie mod himself.. Like really?

So why isn't there any improvement on vBookie itself? Possibly javascript vBookie, or even better, make it a Java application. It would be more interactive and more user-friendly, wouldn't you agree?

The vBookie has been the same old self and the only reason I barely use it is because I can't be arsed to click in and out of threads, the thready sort of look on it, we have 900k users, surely we can make our own mark in that respect and make it more interactive. That's just my insight, other users may not agree.

ROLL TIDE!!!
So if vbookie is going away...then shoutbox is next right? only the same LESS than 20 users use it per day.

I'm pretty sure vbookie gets just as many members a unpopular things, shoutbox, premium, xbox, and what 85% of the site right?

So if you close vbookie, you have to close 85% of the site. Including that annoying lagbox.

You're way off target, you're referring to a 20 at one time, not 20 over the whole day. Threads which go in the SB notice usually get about 1000 views.

We do? Premium is only there as a reward to those who've donated, it's not there because it's an active section.
