One bit of advice, Goals are a personal thing and better to be left private, ask some respected members in private how to get noticed, or ask some former staff how they got the nod.
But goals are a good thing and I have to admit it was one of mine when I came on the site

Magg runs the servers for ngu. He's literally been server admin since 2008 and he actually gets on the forums every now and then. If you're online at the right time you'll see him pop into the shoutbox to give everyone a fair warning that the site is going to be down for a couple minutes as he updates and works on the servers.
