Yes. When you ask for staff it sorta comes off like you're begging for it. Most people who get promoted are active around the forums, help people out, have good grammar and are upstanding members of the community.

Most of the above have answered your question, but really I would just recommend being a likeable guy that posts a lot of threads, gets involved with the community and is always available to help other users.

Being helpful is good in many ways, not just to become staff, you should be helpful on the forums anyways.
- Be helpful
- Use proper grammar
- Report posts
- Post useful threads
- Just be yourself and people will like you. Don't be someone who you aren't.
