What is your feeling on this? If this passes and it is found to be an acceptable law, chances are other states will follow.

This is just to stop little kids from buying games. All they have to do is enforce the 18+ Age Restriction on games more often. Adding taxes to violent or non-violent games is just plain greed.

Well, the 18+ is only for buying games without an Adult. That's a suggested rating and it's not the game industries fault but rather the parents fault.

Why should we be punished for kids who can't control themselves and parents who refuse to monitor and limit what their child is exposed to.

Same goes for movies. What, are we going to tax rated R and PG-13 movies because parents take kids to these movies? No.

Likely this will be struct down because it violates the constitution; if it passes however, a shit storm may happen in that state.

>Missouri Lawmaker Proposed Game Tax On Violent Video Games

I die a little every time I see shit like this. All they're doing is exploiting people.

Autistic kid shoots up school
Vast majority of fucking retarded society want something to blame and look to media
Media decides violent games are to blame (The people that play these violent games know that they're not to blame but that's a moot point because of how easy society is to brainwash)
Public Cry " Won't somebody please think of the children"
Government reacts to the public's cry's and dislike of violent games
Comes up with Jew scheme to make more money via an extra tax that will most likely just be used to buy some guy in the government his new dragon dildo
Tax comes in, all people that buy video games are affected
2 months later another school gets shot up
Retarded public are completley confused as to why this didn't work

The older I get the more I grow to dislike those crusty old men in governments all over the world that have no fucking clue what there doing no fucking clue whatsoever. Unless it's maintaing foreign relations or defending their freedums.

You have the completely wrong fucking attitude towards this as a whole it's not about paying an extra dollar for a game, a dollar isn't going to hurt anyone. It's an ineffective method to stop violence it's only a placebo to make the public think they are doing something about a problem they can't fucking fix.
If it's not going to work they shouldn't be doing it in the first place and it's your duty to speal up and say cut out this shit.

Today Will Be Different
Personally this doesn't really bother me any because I get most of my games on base so there aren't any state and federal taxes that I have to pay. It's just one of those benefits about shopping on a military installation. And I have to agree with Budz... instead of adding a tax to enforce the ESRB on games... why not do that at the business level instead of the state level?

I'm in the UK so this shouldn't happen to me.
If it does then so be it. A tax on a game won't bother me much.

Yet taxes on the top 1% being higher is a no. Cute

I think it silly unless the money goes toward mental health care programs.

Most idiotic thing ever, I wouldn't be bothered much though. Thanks for the source.
