Plasma do have far less input lag... Though burn in is still very much a problem.. or at the very least ghosting... I would honestly take as much time as you need to research on what you want.

I'm no expert but i advice you buy a LED they're expensive but more likely to be the best.

I've had LCD for quite a while now, I've tried Plasma on different brands. I find that LCD seems to be brighter, and better contrast than Plasma.. but then again that's my opinion

LED panels are brighter, however have less colour saturation. The blacks are not as deep and as true as they are on a plasma display. It's really up to you on which one you choose. Burn in is still a problem, but it's almost non-existant unless you keep a still image on the screen for over an hour repeatedly. For gaming LEDs usually have better response times and offer a better gaming experience.

In your case, get a LED panel. They tend to last longer, and since console graphics are not exactly outstanding as they are, you're not going to even notice the differences in colour saturation and whatnot. You won't have as much worry if you buy an LED.

If you are looking to get a tv just for gaming then get a monitor, they offer faster response times. I have personally heard a lot of good things about BenQ monitors. They offer monitors that are 1080p, 120hz, 2ms response times plus it is a LED. They can be a little bit expensive compared to other monitors but I guess you get what your pay for!
