I love torrents, been using for years, i mainly download tv shows, you see i live in the U.K and watch a lot of american tv shows like The Office, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter etc, to watch these over here takes months, SAMCRO season 5 has now only just come over to U.K television but the season finished over 4 months ago in the states. The u.k sucks.
I also download ppv wrestling like the royal rumble, i will be damned if im paying £14.99 for it.
For me personally the best torrent site is extratorrent. Very good details on quality of torrents and screen shots.
I use two programs mainly bitlord, but the old version of the program (dont like new layout) and i use Tixati.

Ain't nothing wrong with torrenting, it's just P2P so theoretically if if there is a high seed count you could be downloading significantly faster than if you were to download from a website like mediafire. I never understood why people have problems with torrents, there is nothing wrong with it and it's not like it's all just pirated stuff. That all being said, if you torrent a game without using a trusted torrent site, from a trusted author, and don't read the comments just to make sure, you deserve whatever virus, malware, trojan, or rootkit you receive. (Plus when torrenting (because all of us NGU users definitely pirate) you should be using a VPN regardless.)

Torrents are much better than direct download as you don't have to wait and buy premium accounts on a site that will not last more than one year. The torrent I use is ipt and I donate every month so my ratio is always high so when I download, it's quick.

It depends on what you're downloading IMO

Torrents are best in my opinion, TPB is a good site for them.

I think a lot of us originally had the perception that all torrents are viruses or whatever. Once you get the hang of it, you realize how awesome it is. Only started 2 years ago.

How's that even relevant?
