If you're just going to be watching TV on it, then you are much better off getting a Plasma display. The colours are much more true to life and they have very deep blacks with proper saturation. LED panels are far too bright and have washed out blacks (making them look grey instead) and the colours are just overall not as accurate.

Even gaming will work very well, as long as there isn't some stuck image on the screen while you are playing. (A mini map for example glued in the same position for hours).

I'd get the Plasma unless you're going to be doing heavy gaming on the panel. It's 3D, 600Hz and it's a smart TV all for the same price.

Only TV worthy buying is Samsung or Sony. All the TVs in my house are Samsung and I highly recommend the brand because their quality is unparalleled.

I personally hate flat screen for gaming but for watching is great. It depends on your personalities and senses.
