(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ziff Davis is part of some company who owns 1UP, UGO, and GameSpy decided to shut down the sites within the coming days. Ziff Davis just recently was sold back IGN which it owned in the past from news corp.
Result IGN which is a much bigger fish means no need need to run 3 other gaming sites at the same time. IGN is also hit with job cuts at the company. Editorial jobs are going as the company starts a restructure program on the teams.
Games industry is a high employee turnover industry, journalist side of things is no different.

1UP, UGO, and GameSpy are long time known sites and should be missed :(
Hoping the journalists can find a another job. News broke on twitter from some of the ex employees and memo has been leaked.

Good Riddance, I only trust word of mouth now anyway, games journalism is joke in it's current form and I mean that in all seriousness it really is a joke. Paid reviews and feminism everywhere.

Some of it a joke but would not wish anybody to no longer be a in a job when it easy to fix.

I will miss gamespy even though I dont really care to much. Gamespy was one of the sites I remember when I first looked up game reviews.
