I know that it's up to me to act and get out there, but first I would like to know why in 27 (nearly 2 years I have failed to have a girlfriend.

The only time I was with a girl was last year after a drunken night out. We went back to her place and though we were drunk had the presence of mind not to have unprotected sex (neither of us had any contraceptives). We decided not to speak of the occasion ever again.

I find many aspects worrying. I'm still a virgin and that monkey on my back plays it's part in knocking my confidence. I've never been on a date and women (though I don't pin the blame on them for my worries) have never given me the time of day.
