I'm worried that Xbox will go all media and get side tracked by that. Overall, the PS4 will most probably be the dominating console as far as processors and graphics go. Online features and capabilities will definitely go to Xbox.

If xbox live becomes free, then I'd think the Xbox might win. Xbox live was turning into a bill I didn't want to pay, even though it was worth it, so I traded for a Ps3. In my opinion on the info so far at hand, I feel that the Playstation is going to win in terms of hardware, but I feel as though I might be speaking to soon. Xbox is going to reveal later on and we'll have to wait and see.

It all depends on how you define win? What's the criteria? Sales, fans response, features, price, etc.. It all honestly comes down to what the player wants. Sure we're all going to have a bias opinion, and in the gaming world, it's impossible to come to a set conclusion, sort of like achieving world peace. In my opinion, the PS4 will "win." Based on what's been revealed so far, the PS4 looks strong; but keep in mind that E3 is still to come, and Xbox has an event planned on the 21st before E3 as well. Sure Sony's given us more info, but that's not to say Microsoft will lose due to the lack of on their part. There's still a lot of time for both companies to release more exciting news. It all comes down to what each of us prefer and what's a better deal for the price. Sales wise, let's say the one company sells more than the other, but their defect rate or whatever is greater than the other, so we can't really go off of sales until a couple more years so they can work out most of the initial bugs and ticks. Let's see, though, in the upcoming weeks. There's not enough information given to properly decide mainly because one side lacks more. We're just gonna have to wait.

I'm rooting for the PS4 though.

PS4 already has a head start, & Microsoft has some explaining to do about the "Always Online" & No used games & them going straight for Media & Apps and not focusing on Games!

So I think the Playstation 4 might win, Idk We'll see at this Xbox event coming up in two weeks.

Sales and such are going to be a matter who preference, who likes what games, what your friends choose, etc. I feel as though the Xbox is probably going to be purchased more than the PS4 for the sense that you have a lot of kids in the world who already have an Xbox and will stick with it because that's their comfort zone.

You will have a lot of kids who will choose the PS4 because it carries a sense of prestige. If Sony opens up the world of the PS4 for indie game developers to develop games for the system and debug on their own and attempt to get it sold, rather than just having the big boys create games, I feel as though in two years time; a new market will open up for the PS4, a new large market. Yes, the PS3 has their development kit but the kit is expensive, there is a lot of talented designers out there who do not have the money to produce games for that cost.

The Xbox has the upper field, for 100 dollars you can get a license to publish games for the Xbox, once reviewed and accepted, it goes up into the store. You can also publish the games free and have other users download and install it themselves. The Xbox has become a hub for indie game developers, along with Steam.

We just gotta wait, this speculation is too early, these threads are bullshit, these threads is an idiocracy in the sense of the word fan-boy. Once the first sales numbers are released, there will be an idea. Once 6 months have passed, we will really know who will win this war.

I swear we had this thread last week... and the conclusion will be the same. Nobody knows because both have still not be released fully. After each has been out for a year then you might get an answer to your question and I emphasise might. If I stated a thread called "Which is better PS3 or 360" we'd get no definitive answer because of console fanboyism.

No console ever wins the console war. The "war" is just fans of each console arguing their biased opinions.

First I would like to state I'm not a fanboy of either company what so ever I played PS3 from 2006 to 2010 and I've since played Xbox 2010 up to current time. I think their both great companies although currently I prefer the online service of Xbox Live, more reliable usually better connection etc. But thats not the topic. As for next gen this is what I think.

Now we will get a much better idea of who will "win" when May 21st comes when Xbox releases their press conferences for the new one. Although from the little we have heard they are trying to partner up with Cable Service Providers and other companies and moving more towards media center and away from gaming system. If they move this way then I will move the other way personally but I think if they do move this way then they will lose. It all depends on which direction they go for whether they win.

I don't plan on taking any sides before details are revealed about the new Xbox.
