Post: Has COD been using the same ideas?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've noticed that Call of Duty has been running off the same ideas, mostly Infinity Ward.
Every Modern Warfare has had close to the same campaign, with one or two sniping/quiet missions, and a shit ton of out numbered missions (Eg. US vs 20 people in a building)
Most of the things that the people say are the same too,"Keep it tight" and "Let them pass" are the only two things people fucking say on there?WTF?What are your thoughts?

Yes, call of duty a shit. However if a COD game came out with cute girls in it.... I'd play the fuck outta that.

I bought BO and MW2 at the same time because I wanted to play the campaigns, what a mistake that was MW2 was shit and BO had an okay campaign but still both were shit in comparison to FEAR 2's main campaign.

Series formula.
What more intersting to notice is how all modern military shooter have followed the same basic formula.
Linear , cut scene driven story with linear spaces to fight in.

Half life , goldeneye and doom if you look close are made from the same DNA. Half life due to it design at the time was a change of ideas, and still a great example of a shooter. Modern shooters need a creative boost. In many ways halo is stuck in 90s shooter mode but pretty fun still what not fun is all games following it.
Disappointed nobody had the balls to break out of this rut yet. BO2 did play around with some new ideas but never pushed it enough. Ghosts should have done a complete change on old hardware pushing the IP and new consoles boom if people like it you follow that direction.

Fascinating you just notice this :P
I picked up on it after my second shooter or two.

Part of the problem is buying habits, I was going to do a post about shooter game design ages ago but not sure people would like to read it lol.

PS
I need to change my buying habits thinking of picking up metro and couple other games which are new ideas at play.
